Rare Ransomville Appearance For Bolland

Coming out of his driveway on Friday morning, Pennsylvanian Kevin Bolland and crew turned left instead of right . Four hours later they arrived in the town of Porter in time for Bolland’s first race at Ransomville Speedway since 1983, his second year of short-track competition. “I remember following Danny Johnson back then after we got rained out at Flemington (NJ),” recalled Bolland, now 47, who captured the biggest victory of his career on a national stage when he won a twin 50-lap Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT car Series show at Lowe’s (NC) Dirt Track in 2003. “I think Danny even won that night at Ransomville, I don’t even remember qualifying. We’re back here looking to step up our program and run a few more big shows. We still plan to support Tri-City Speedway on Sundays so some of these other Series races scheduled on weekends may fit in well. Right now I’m trying to talk the crew into staying over to race Canandaigua Speedway on Saturday. We’ll just have to wait and see how we make out tonight,” said Bolland, who completed the entire 100-lap distance at the ‘Big R’ to finish 14th on the final scoresheet. The New Brighton, Pa. standout owns 43 career DIRT car Big-Block feature wins including three in 2007. This evening Kevin was the 11th fastest out of 37 cars in the time trials, clocking 17.425 and 77.475 mph.
